RACETRACK - LASIX VETERINARIAN, PADDOCK VETERINARIAN, TEST BARN VETERINARIAN, REGULATORY VETERINARIAN

Kunz Equine is looking to add new members to our team! If you like working with horses and want a flexible schedule, this is a unique opportunity for you! We are seeking veterinarians in the NY/NJ/PA area to join our team. Our vets can rotate between different roles at area racetracks with standardbred and thoroughbred horses.

Our tracks include:

      The Meadowlands (East Rutherford, NJ) – a premier harness (Standardbred) track, adjacent to MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands Sports Complex, hosting the annual Hambletonian and many Breeders Crowns.

      Monmouth Park (Oceanport, NJ) – a historic thoroughbred racetrack minutes from the Jersey shore, attracting seasonal national and international competition.

      Parx Racetrack (Bensalem, PA) – a year-round thoroughbred racing venue located on the outskirts of Philadelphia

Racetrack experience is NOT necessary. We provide a practical orientation, mentoring, and on-going support. Our group includes practice owners seeking extra income, retired practitioners enjoying stress-free tasks, small animal vets who miss working with horses, board certified applicants needing time to study for exams, new graduates looking for exposure to the backstretch of a working racetrack, and others that desire a fun job with flexibility. 

Kunz Equine veterinarians administer the pre-race Lasix program at all tracks. Depending on the venue, our vets also collect pre- and post-race blood samples, supervise detention barn personnel, and support other regulatory duties. For harness racing (at The Meadowlands), we also perform post-race endoscopic exams and administer treatments as needed.

-        Hourly rate $90-$100 

DVM, VMD or equivalent required. We will assist with state and/or racetrack licensure, as well as HIWU (Horse Racing Integrity & Welfare Unit) certification.
