Description
Experienced Veterinarian – Animal Medical Center of Chicago (AMCOC)
For the veterinarian who simply wants to do what they love—practice thoughtful, high-quality medicine in a supportive and healthy environment.
Animal Medical Center of Chicago is a woman-owned, independently operated, beautifully designed, and exceptionally well-equipped hospital where experienced clinicians are empowered to practice at the highest level. This is a practice built intentionally—for veterinarians who value autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and excellence in patient care.
At AMCOC, your medical judgment is trusted. If it is in your patient’s best interest and your client supports your recommendations, you are encouraged to move forward—without unnecessary oversight or limitations.
You will join a collaborative team of 7 veterinarians, supported by 10 certified veterinary technicians and 8 dedicated veterinary assistants, with each doctor paired with at least one assistant at all times. Our 30–45 minute (or longer) appointments are designed to allow for thoughtful, thorough, and unrushed medicine—creating a more meaningful and rewarding clinical experience. We also utilize AI-assisted medical record writing, significantly reducing time spent on documentation—records are generated for you to review and finalize.
We are seeking an experienced veterinarian only—a clinician who is deeply passionate about veterinary medicine and who genuinely respects the human–animal bond that our clients cherish. Our practice has cultivated an exceptional, highly engaged clientele that is committed to fully working up their pets’ medical conditions and pursuing the highest standard of care.
The ideal candidate is:
- A highly motivated, self-directed clinician
- Intellectually curious and collaborative
- Strongly interested in internal medicine and/or dentistry
- Committed to practicing thorough, high-quality medicine
- Seeking a long-term professional home among like-minded colleagues
- Aligned with our core values of honesty, empathy, excellence, and ethical, respectful care
What sets AMCOC apart:
- No after-hours emergency responsibilities
- No boarding or grooming on-site
- No Sunday or holiday hours
- Flexible schedule (3–4 days per week)
- Complete clinical autonomy—no micromanagement
- Entire staff is deeply committed to our Fear-Free hospital mission
- A culture that prioritizes your well-being, safety, and continued growth
- The ability to practice elevated medicine with the time, support, and clientele to support it
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation and benefits are generous and highly competitive, reflecting the level of medicine practiced and the expectations of the role.
This is a rare opportunity for the right DVM—someone who is not just looking for a job, but for a practice environment that matches their standards, values, and long-term vision.
