Description
Come practice great medicine with people who actually like working together.
Clinton Veterinary Hospital is looking for a veterinarian to join our privately owned, independent practice in beautiful coastal Connecticut.
We’re not corporate. We’re not a high-volume factory. And we don’t believe in rushing through appointments just to get to the next one.
We believe in 30-minute appointments, high-quality medicine, excellent support staff, and taking the time to actually know our patients—and their people.
We’re a long-established, locally owned hospital with a strong reputation in the community and a genuinely great client base. Our doctors enjoy practicing medicine together, our support team is experienced and engaged, and we’re committed to helping our veterinarians grow.
What makes us different?
30-minute appointments
Enough time to listen, examine, think, explain, and practice medicine the way you were trained to.
High-quality medicine
We invest in our equipment, our people, and our medicine. We offer advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, cancer screening, and more—without losing the personal feel of a community practice.
A stable, experienced team
Our veterinary and support staff have been together for years. That kind of continuity is intentional—and it makes a difference. You’ll work alongside people who know our patients, know how to work together, and genuinely care about the practice. We’re proud that our veterinarians and team members tend to stay, grow, and build their careers here.
Real mentorship & collaboration
You won't be practicing on an island. Our doctors regularly discuss cases, bounce ideas off one another, and share their experience. Whether you're a new graduate building confidence or an experienced veterinarian looking to expand your skills, you'll have a team around you.
Privately owned & doctor-led
Our decisions are made by veterinarians who actually work here. We can be flexible, responsive, and focused on what's best for our patients, clients, and team—not a corporate bottom line.
Good clients. Really.
We have a loyal, educated clientele who value their pets and appreciate quality veterinary care. Building long-term relationships with families is a big part of what makes this job rewarding.
A life outside the clinic
We want you to have one. We value reasonable schedules, time off, and a healthy work-life balance. Being a great veterinarian shouldn't require making veterinary medicine your entire personality.
And yes, we offer the good stuff, too.
We offer a competitive benefits package designed to take care of you both at work and outside of it, including health insurance, a 401(k), profit-sharing plan, generous paid time off with no negative accrual, paid continuing education, professional dues, licensing support, uniforms, and more.
Requirements
And we're looking for someone who...
Is curious. Kind. Smart. A good communicator. Someone who enjoys laughing at work, collaborating with teammates, and continually learning and who is willing to teach us a few new tricks! We like learning from others just as much as teaching.
Maybe you're a recent graduate looking for a place where you can build confidence with experienced doctors around you.
Maybe you're an experienced veterinarian who has discovered that corporate medicine and 15-minute appointments aren't your thing anymore.
Either way, we'd love to meet you.
Come practice excellent medicine in a place where you can know your patients, know your clients, know your coworkers—and actually enjoy coming to work.
