We have a (rare) opening and are excited to welcome our newest future coworker at Blue Cross Animal Clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico! Blue Cross Animal Clinic is one of the oldest non-corporate vet practices in the state. Blue Cross has been independently owned for 40+ years, is a large, multi-vet hospital and moved into a brand new, professionally designed, modern building with a lot of natural light, 2 surgery suites, 10+ exam rooms and semi-private doctor offices a few years ago. It's conveniently located in the heart of Albuquerque near I-25 and I-40 (in the center of the city). What we offer: 4 day/week schedule with no weekends, no on-call and no after hours. We have ultrasound, digital radiographs, in house lab, dental x-ray, etc. Many of our vets are working moms and dads with young and school-age children and we encourage work/life balance. All our staff (vets and non-vets) receive PTO for CE, an annual CE allowance, receive 6 weeks paid parental leave, can enroll in our health insurance, vision and dental plan, can participate in our 401K retirement that matches at 4%, receive loyalty bonuses based on years of service, can receive an annual educational stipend to help pay for dependents' education and have access to our staff counselor. Additionally, we enjoy all of the cultural and sports offerings of New Mexico and offer tickets to our staff frequently. We have a kind, skilled, collegial team of vets, techs and CSRs.
Our veterinarians' schedule is appointments from 8 am-noon, a 2 hour charting/callback/lunch break from noon-2 pm and appointments from 2-5 pm. Surgery days are a mix of surgeries and, if there is time left to spare, urgent care appointments from 8 am-5 pm. Salary is based on experience and efficiency in clinic but generally ranges from $135,000-$190,000 for experienced veterinarians. Pro sal or production is also an option if desired. Experienced vets receive 4 weeks' paid vacation and additional PTO for continuing ed. We encourage employee growth and love to promote from within whenever possible.
