Description
Burleson Equine Hospital is a three doctor full service equine hospital located just south of Fort Worth in Burleson, Texas. We are looking for a full time associate with interest in general practice (internal medicine, dentistry, lameness and sports medicine, reproduction, heard health, and emergency medicine). The practice treats horses with a wide variety of disciplines including western performance, hunter/jumper, dressage, rodeo and pleasure horses. We work together with a "family atmosphere", and teamwork is integral to this position. Attention to detail and being client/patient focused is a priority for all team members. We are a 24 hour full service facility that supports surgical (orthopedic and soft tissue) and medical cases, along with 3 fully stocked trucks for our ambulatory practice. We have a full-service in-house lab that includes all Idexx machines, EIA certification, microbiology, and reproductive lab equipment. Our clinic includes 3 large exam areas with 3 regular stocks, and a dental stock that can also be used for standing surgeries. The surgical suite includes large animal gas anesthesia, full monitors, blood gas machine, and a padded recovery stall. The fifteen stall fully enclosed barn has cameras, and includes an ICU that is within the clinic, along with isolation stalls that are separate on the premises. We have full medicine capabilities with 1 and 3 meter video endoscopes, digital Min X Radiography, several digital ultrasounds, ESWT, Pro-Stride, IRAP, extensive dental and reproduction equipment. Candidate must be honest, have a good work ethic, and have a strong internal medicine and sports medicine foundation, but also be willing to see emergency cases. License, registration, insurance, bonuses, & other practice related expenses are paid. The ideal candidate is an experienced equine practitioner that wants to help us build and expand our already busy and progressive practice.
Requirements
Our Associate position requires an enthusiastic individual who is a team player, has a great work ethic, and has the ability to communicate effectively with our diverse clientele. This position will require extensive knowledge of internal medicine (colics/colitis, infectious diseases, respiratory, neonatology, ophthalmology), along with performing thorough lameness evaluations (nerve blocks, joint injections, radiographs and ultrasound, IRAP, PRo-Stride, Stem cell). Candidates must have great horse handling skills and be comfortable working with all types of horses from all disciplines (western performance to sport horse, rodeo to playday). Internship plus 1-5 years' experience is preferred for this position. Emergency work is required with equal time shared between all doctors. Base salary plus production is paid.
