About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Medical Director to set the clinical and cultural standard of the hospital. You will inspire and mentor associate veterinarians, foster a collaborative team environment, and ensure exceptional patient care. Partnering with hospital leadership, you will share responsibility for financial performance, operations, and team growth while remaining actively engaged in clinical practice.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the hospital in delivering high-quality veterinary care
- Set medical standards, policies, and best practices
- Mentor and guide associate veterinarians and staff
- Promote teamwork across all hospital services
- Manage inventory, budgets, and equipment planning
- Actively see patients while maintaining clinical excellence
- Ensure clear communication with clients, staff, and referral partners
- Handle patient care challenges, client concerns, and regulatory compliance
- Lead DVM hiring, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching
- Identify opportunities for new services and hospital growth
- Monitor key performance indicators and drive hospital success
What We’re Looking For
- DVM or VMD from an accredited college
- Current state veterinary license and DEA registration
- 3–5+ years of veterinary experience with strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care
- Strong time-management and delegation skills
- Sound judgment and professional decision-making
- Polished interpersonal skills and professionalism
